I have known Robert for three years. He is a friendly and kind person who enjoys his work of supporting adults with disabilities. During this time, we have employed Robert as a Personal Assistant for my son, who is an adult with a Learning Disability. Robert has proved to be reliable and has created a good relationship with my son where he feels safe, happy, and valued. Robert is experienced, working many years within social care. He understands how to interact appropriately and support his clients effectively. His communication skills are good. This is important in developing a trusted environment with the parent/carer and client. Being able to communicate effectively with parents helps in understanding triggers for behaviours and general wellbeing. One aspect of note is Robert’s passion and ability to organise and implement extra activities / trips with small groups of adults with disabilities. This is a valuable extra resource which enables greater social interaction and independence. Robert has helped my son develop his social skills and his independence. He has helped him become a more confident person out in the community. Highly Recommended.
